This strapping young lad was testing his layering abilities by mixing many patterns. It was a bold choice, and a bit busy, but I think he really pulled it off. You can't see the blue and orange striped shirt he was wearing under all those layers, but that definitely helped tie it all together.But we can't give him all the credit for this fabulous outfit. I think it's fair to assume he got some of his inspiration from Mondo from Project Runway:

Oh, how I have missed the subway fashion updates! This one is great—I say, the more prints, the better! It's a shame he didn't have an animal print in there too.
